He was a Maintenance Foreman at the Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, R.D. Annville, Pa until retiring. He was also a carpenter and a farmer. He was a member of Simeons United Lutheran Church of Gratz. He was a Life Member of the Gratz Fire Company; a member of the Erdman Sportman's Assoc., a former member of the Lykens Twp. Grange; and a former Lykens Twp. Judge of Elections, serving over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Evelyn (Meadows) Coleman; by a son Mark E. Coleman of Gratz; a daughter Linda D. Atwell of Arlington, Va.; a brother Robert Coleman of Belboa, N.Y.; three sisters Hilda Fleegal of Harrisburg, Sarah Beck of Carlisle, and Ethel Gurtz of Adelphia, Md.; by two grandsons Mark T. Coleman and Curt E Atwell; and by two great grand daughters. He was preceded in death by a brother Charles J Coleman and by a sister Ruth Lebo.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec 12 at Simeons United Lutheran Church, Gratz, with the Rev. Barry Ridge officiating. A viewing was held at the church from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11 and on Friday, Dec 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial was made in Union Cemetery, Gratz. Memorial contributions can be made to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 301 One Norweigian Plaza, Pottsville PA 17901. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
