Mrs. Miller was born in Bessarabia, South Russia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Quast, on Nov 10, 1869. She came with her parents to America in 1879. She married the late William Schmierer on Sept 30, 1888 at Parkston, SD. The family moved from SD OR in 1891. In 1899 they came to Odessa and homesteaded north of town, living on the ranch until 1917 when they retired to a home in town, where Mr. Miller died in 1929. In 1934 she remarried, to Jacob Miller, who also preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Emanuel Schmierer; 7 grandchildren; two step-sons, Jacob Miller Jr. of Lamona; and Solly Miller, Mohler; one daughter, Mrs. Marie Heimbigner, Puyallup.
