BATES, Francis Marie "Granny"; age 84, of Lobelville was born February 26, 1923 in Holland, Missouri and entered into eternal rest on December 7, 2007 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. A daughter of the late Henry Frank and Gladys Marie Bess – Abbott she was loved by her family and a bountiful amount of friends. She owned and operated Bates Grill in downtown Lobelville for many years where she was known to young and old alike as "Granny". Ms. Bates was a member of the Church of Christ with her membership in the Lobelville congregation. She will be missed by her loving family and community. In addition to her parents, in 1979 she was preceded in death by her husband, William Fred (Dyke) Bates, and later a grandchild, Randy Daily.
