Age 80. Passed away Saturday, November 20, 1976, at the Phoenix General Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Almond was born in Miller, South Dakota on July 16, 1896, and moved to Racine in 1918, living here for 30 years until moving to Phoenix. He enlisted in the Army on August 27, 1918 and served until December 10, 1918 during WWI. Mr. Almond was employed as a carpenter and had retired in 1964. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle; two sons and daughters-in-law, Verlyn L. and Mildred Almond of Racine and Kenneth E. and Sandra Almond of Phoenix, Arizona; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol J. and Paul Hodges of Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Virge Bunda and Mrs. Veda Felbob, both of Racine, Sylvia Dunn of South Dakota, Alma Slapinski of Wisconsin Dells and Verna Felbob of Kenosha, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 24, at 1:30 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin L. Bergin officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call WEDNESDAY, November 24, from NOON UNTIL TIME OF SERVICES at the WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 1339 Blaine Ave. Memorials in memory of Mr. Almond to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
