Mrs. Butler died on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Bradley Bay Health Care. She was a long-time resident of Chardon.
Stella worked many years for the Chardon Schools in the cafeteria and served as cafeteria manager. She made candy at Frantz's Restaurant and also had a veggie stand on Cherry Street.
Her passion was her gardening.
She is survived by her children, Wilbur R. Jr. (Sandi) and Paula Levin; grandchildren, Cynthia (Paul) Carson, Jana (Chris) Modarelli, Debbie Gerstenberger and six great-grandchildren; siblings, Fred (Betty) Klatka, Henry Klatka, Edline Goshe, Stanley (Juanita) Klatka; sister-in-law, Ila; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur R.; siblings, John (Mary) Klatka, Sarah (Kenneth) Butler, Paul (Wilma) Klatka and Joseph Klatka; and in-laws, Beulah Klatka, and Ralph Goshe.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Stella from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at The DeJohn Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St. (Route 44, south of Route 6/Chardon Square). Burial will follow the Mass in Chardon Village Cemetery.
Family suggests contributions be made in Stella's memory to St. Mary Church.
