Robert M. Wood was a painter, entrepreneur, and musician in Bowling Green OH in the 1930s. Having been inspired by his father's example as a painter, he studied painting formally under David Swing (Phoenix AZ), George Graham (Cheyenne WY), and Theodore John Keane (Bowling Green OH). Among Robert's most notable works are The Last Supper (1930), The Seeking Shepherd (1931), Savior Protecting the World (1932), and Christ Crucified Afresh (1933).
Note: Robert's middle name comes from Robert Mellalieu (1847-), husband of Silence Spencer (1845-), sister of Margaret Spencer (1853-1917), Robert Wood's mother. Robert Mellalieu and his wife visited the home of Robert's parents in Hays City, Kansas, in the fall of 1888. The family would pass the name down with errors, having since forgotten the story.
