Danny Janes, 68, of Everett, WA, born March 19, 1938, died March 12, 2007. He lived in Arlington most of his life next to his father, brothers, and sister on 20 acres known as "JANESVILLE". He graduated from Arlington High School in 1957, served in the US Army, and married in 1962. He worked in construction for many years and built the family home where he and his wife, Linda, raised two daughters. Danny enjoyed classic cars, tinkering on engines, camping, gardening, playing cribbage, dancing, shooting pool, and hosting summer potlucks with family and friends.
His parents were Ted and Dorothy Janes. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cora McConnell; and daughter, Shelley.
He leaves behind his daughter, Debbie Del Pozo; grandchildren, Nathan Janes and Nick Ptacek; brothers, Bob, Bruce, and twin brother, Denny Janes. He also leaves behind brother-in-law and friend, James (MAC) McConnell; sister-in-law, Barbara Janes; numerous nephews, and one niece.
After many difficult and challenging years, Danny became a man who appreciated everything. There was a calmness about him where he showed his sweet, gentle side.
His daughter helped care for him and although this was a difficult time, they had the opportunity to "reconnect" and spend treasured time together. Even in sickness, he never lost his sense of humor.
Services were held on Saturday, March 17, 2007.
