Dale W. Whitley, 71, of Macon, MO, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born on December 11, 1941, in Arcola, MO, the son of Robert James and Carrie Leota (Harper) Whitley.
Dale was the National Sales Manager for Amiben and Union Carbide, the Mayor of Macon for 16 years, Chairman of Macon Economic Development, was influential in bringing the Ethanol Plant to Macon, and enjoyed his time working for Chariton Valley. He was a member of First Christian Church, The Macon County Democratic Club, Macon Elks Lodge, Macon Jaycees and enjoyed boating, fishing, dancing, camping and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by three daughters; one grandson ; three granddaughters; great-grandson Boone DeLozier; great-granddaughter; two sisters , and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Leota Whitley, brother –in-law Scott Phillips, son-in-law Gerald Boedeker and one nephew Todd Phillips.

Funeral service will be Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 10:30 am at the First Christian Church with Reverend Julie King officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Macon. Memorials can be made to the Lung Patient Transplant Fund at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
