Maxine Drath, 76, of Everly, died Friday, December 2, 1994 at Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 1994, at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly with Pastor G. Duane Baun officiating.
Casket Bearers; Larry Aakhus, Terry Johnson, Steve Johnson, Randy Newgard, Dick Brookfield and Roger Simpson.
Burial was at Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly.
Maxine Evelyn Drath, the daughter of Gerald and Nina (Rohm) Johnson, was born April 15, 1918, in Millboro, South Dakota. It was there and in Winner, South Dakota, that she received her early education, She attended high school in Ada, Minnesota.
She married Rudy Drath on December 16, 1937, in Winner. Throughout their marriage, the couple made their home in the Moneta and Everly area.
She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly.
For 12 years, she worked as a waitress at Barb's Corner.
For the past four months, Mrs. Drath, has been a resident of the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard; two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Loretta Adrian of Everly; four grandchildren; eight great-grand children; two brothers, Jack Johnson of Everly and Frank Johnson of Spencer; and five sisters, Lois Berg, Ruth Chase and Merle Hamrick, all of Spencer, Bonnie Newgard of Laurens and Ruby Hagarty of Fontana, California.
