Funeral services for Billy Ervin "Tooney" Keith, 84, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Welsh Neck Baptist Church. The Rev. Eric Sloan will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, May 27, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.
Mr. Keith, widower of Maude Freeman Keith, died Saturday, May 25, 2013. Born in Chesterfield Co., SC, he was a son of the late Daisy Brazwell and Julius Keith. Mr. Keith lived most of his life in Society Hill where he served on the Town Council for 8 years and was a member of the Society Hill Rescue Squad. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and retired from Sonoco Products Company after 42 years of service.
Surviving are his daughter, Sandra (J. W.) Jacobs of Hartsville, SC; sisters, Beatrice Bradshaw of Society Hill, SC, Sally Hansen of Society Hill, SC; brothers, Billy (Connie) Keith of Cheraw, SC, Albert (Ruth) Keith of Cheraw, SC, Tex (Debbie) Keith of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Jamie Jacobs, Tommy (Misty) Jacobs, Mark (Jonalette) Jacobs. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Tracy Jacobs.
