Marvin was born Oct. 23, 1946, in Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin to Leon and Lenora (Pavletich) West. Marvin graduated from Sesser High School in 1964 and attended Mount Vernon Community College. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sesser and Carbondale and active in both churches. He also was a member of the PrimeTimers. He loved attending church and the fellowship the members provided. Marvin especially liked their cookies. Survivors include three sisters, Kathy West and husband, Royce Jackson, of Du Quoin, Cindy Dame Van Horn and husband, Ron Van Horn, of Whittington and Melinda Kelly and husband, Joseph Kelly, of Sesser; nieces, Christina Leigh Vickers and husband, Uel Vickers, of Scheller and Aileen Kelly of Sesser; stepniece, Rachael Jackson of Carbondale; stepnephew, Paul and wife, Paige Pestka Jackson, of Miami; aunts and uncles, Norma Martin of Du Quoin, Larry and wife, Glenda Pavletich, of Sesser and Hollis Dale West of Lexington, Ky.; great-nephew, Haystin Vickers, and great-niece, Henley Vickers, both of Scheller; and several loving cousins. Marvie was a special and unique individual in many ways. He was gifted in many areas of life.
