Houston Fire Department from 1898-1936
He was captain of Fire Station Number 7, and was one of the eldest members of continuous service in the Houston Fire Department at the time of his death. He was known to be a strict disciplinarian and he kept his Colt .45 pistol stuck in his belt. During one discussion with his crew at the station he shot a round into the ceiling. He was a member of the Maccabee Lodge.
Father of D. C. King, Jr., C. C. King, and a daughter, Leola Dale Clark who passed away on May 29, 1922. Brother of Nettie Machen, Alice Drabow, Annie Schwecke, Matilda Schwecke, and Lillian Lewis.
