Ray was a member and past director of the Braidwood Recreation Club and was also member of the Braidwood Recreation Club Fishing Council. He attained a college degree in Broadcast Journalism and a graduate degree in Teaching. He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Coal City, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Marylou (nee Zurawski), whom he married February 11, 1995 in Bourbonnais, IL; twin brother and sister-in-law, Vic and Elaine Del Mastro of Shorewood, and their children, Raffaella "Punkin" Del Mastro, Victor Del Mastro and Andrew Del Mastro; sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Jim Kazlauskas of Joliet; father-in-law, Ted Zurawski of Chicago, IL; sisters-in-law, Cindy Zurawski of Glen Ellyn, IL, Eileen (Al) Chiaratttini of FL and Ann Marie (Neil) Carey of Elmhurst, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; mother-in-law, Marie Zurawski; and brother-in-law, Ted Zurawski.
The visitation will be Tuesday, May 28, from 4-8 p.m.
Funeral services: R.W. Patterson Funeral Home, 401 E. Main Street, Braidwood, Illinois, Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Coal City for mass at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Robert Noesen officiating.
Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, Braidwood.
