In her later years, Mrs. Huerta, was known for her gardening, ceramics (which she taught at the University of Arizona in Tucson) & writing children's stories (which she read to Spanish-speaking children in elementary schools in Tucson).
She was a member of the League of Mexican American Women of Tucson and an honorary member of the Professional Women's League in Mexico.
She is survived by her children, Omar Mario Bustamante Aldaco, Oswaldo Bustamante Aldaco Luis Alonzo Bustamante Aldaco, Hector Juventino Bustamante Aldaco,John Huerta Aldaco & Esperanza Davis Huerta, Rosa Maria Flores Huerta, Martha Elias Huerta and Socorro Flores Huerta.
