PRICE, JR., BEN G., 76 - of Villas, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House. Born in Media, PA, he has resided in this area for 13 years and was formerly of Landsdowne, PA.
Mr. Price retired in 1990 after 30 years service with Scott Florist of Northeast Philadelphia where he served as shop manager. He was a World War II Army veteran and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 44 of Del Haven and past secretary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3725 of N. Cape May. An active member of the American Association of Retired People (AARP), he served as coordinator and instructor with the 55 Alive Defense Driving course. A 4th Degree member of the Monsignor Moroney Knights of Columbus Assembly of Wildwood, he was also an active member of Stella Maris Council 3546 in Erma where he coordinated and produced its monthly newsletter. He also devoted many hours of service to the Scholarship breakfast held there each month.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Murray Price; his children: Carolyn (Paul) Follansbee of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Ben G. III (Susan) Price of Carlisle, PA, James J. (Marianne) Price of Upper Darby, PA, Rosemarie Gross of San Francisco, CA and the late Robert F. (1988); his daughter-in-law, Patricia (Walt) Kaminski of Collingsdale, PA; a sister, Ann King of Iowa. (Pre-deceased by sisters, Louise and Emma) and brother-in-law Richard Taylor. He is the grandfather of Mark, Jamie, Justin, Michelle, Jennifer, Andrew, Shawn, Christopher and the late Jill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrate 12 noon Monday at St. Raymond's Roman Catholic Church, Bayshore & Ocean Aves., Villas, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Burial will be Tuesday at the convenience of the family in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
