Richard Walter Witter, the
child of William Witter and
Emile Pieper Witter, was born
March 8, 1908, at Newell, Iowa.
On April 5 of that same
year he was received into the
Kingdom of God through the
Sacrament of Holy Baptism in
St Peter's Lutheran church,
Newell, Iowa. On July 2, 1922
he was received into the communicant
membership of St.
Peter's Lutheran church by
the rite of confirmation.
March 25, 1936, he was united
in holy wedlock to Jensina
Jensen. This union was
blessed with two children,
Terry and Sally. Richard Witter
was a fine Christian man.
He was a devoted husband
and father. He was well-known
and well-respected in the entire
community. He was also
a very active member of St
Peter's Congregation. Over
the years he served a number
of times as an officer in
the congregation. At various
times he held the offices of
treasurer, trustee, and only
last year completed a three year
term as an elder in the
church.
Preceding him in death
were his parents; one brother,
Frank Witter; and one sister
Mrs Rose Archer. Last Thursday
morning, October 2, very
suddenly it pleased the Lord
to call him from this earth to
his eternal home in Heaven.
