The first of these, great-grandfather of the deceased, was Rev. Thomas Green, one of the original proprietors of the township of Leicester and chief promoters of its settlements...
The first Dr. John Green, son of the Rev. Thomas, removed in early life to Worcester and purchased the estate since known as "Green Hill," the old homestead of the family....
His eldest son, the second Dr. John Green, inherited the tastes and talents of his father and grandfather, and acquired a distinguished reputation....He died in 1808 at the age of 45. The late deceased was a son of the last named above...
graduated at Brown University in 1804.... and Harvard College in 1806...
He married Miss Dolly Curtis, daughter of the late David Curtis of Worcester, but he survived her many years. They had no children.
