POWERS, JOE - age 74, went home to be with the lord at Methodist Medical Center on May 25, 2013, surrounded by many family members and friends. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Our daddy, Joe Powers, the first man we loved, worked hard daylight to dark, where we got our sense of humor, he never met a stranger, lived life and was "a man of laughter", loved by so many, final days of his life he showed great strength once again as he held on so our family could spend his last days with him remembering the great memories we each shared. We were all honored to call him daddy, grand daddy, husband and friend. Preceded in death by parents, Andy and Lillie Powers; sister, Lucille Williams; brothers, Herman Powers, James Powers, Juluis Powers, Marion Powers and Chester Powers. Survived by wife, Evelyn Powers, of 44 years; children, Jo Ann Dauberger (Scott) of Lawrenceville, GA, Diane Conatser (Bruce) of Clinton, Melissa Powers of Clinton, Shannon McKamey (Ed) of Clinton; brothers, Jim Powers (Ruby) of Clinton, Bob Powers of Indiana; grandsons, Owen McKamey, Landon McKamey, Madison McKamey, CPL Justin Powers USMC, Adam Irwin, AFC Jordan Irwin USAF, Dakota Irwin, Korey Holt US Army, Nathan Dauberger; granddaughters, Courtney Matthews, Mackenzie Dauberger; great grandsons (and one on the way), Lyric Holt, Noah Holt; and special nephew; Wayne Powers; and a host of other family and friends. The family would like to say a special thanks to the doctors and nurses on 4 west and Methodist Medical Center and a special thank you to Dr. Valdon, his neurologist for many years. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the funeral services following at 8:00 p.m. at Holley Gamble Chapel in Clinton, TN. Rev. David Crowe and Rev.
