Deceased Name: STANLEY Mrs. Lydia Ruth Porter Cooper

77, of 202 Blacksnake Road, died Sunday, July 1, 2001 at her residence.
She was a native of Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late Robert Clark and Beulah Nance Porter, wife of the late Charlie Walker Cooper, mother of the late Brenda Cooper Cochran, and grandmother of the late Douglas Bryant Cooper. She was a homemaker and member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Mount Holly.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Warriax and Ruth Cooper, both of Stanley; three sons, Charles Cooper of Stanley, Roger Cooper and wife, Patty, of Stanley, and Gary Cooper and wife, Diane, of Belmont; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services conducted by the Reverend Doug Bryant, Reverend Mack Pressley and Reverend Lee Cook will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 4, in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Charlotte. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 PM Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Robby Hamilton, Charlie Abernathy, Roger Dale Cooper, Gary Dale Cooper, Tim Cochran, Leroy Cochran and Bobby Bagwell.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 107 North Cedar St., Lincolnton, NC 28092. Condolence messages for the family may be sent to [email protected].
