Born in Colonial Beach, he was a life-long farmer, a member of Monroe Bay Assembly of God and the Virginia Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel W. Ambrose; one son, Ben Ambrose of Colonial Beach; two daughters, Jo Anne Powers of Colonial Beach and Lynne White of Charlottesville; one sister, Lillian Brann of King George; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were March 17 at Monroe Bay Assembly of God, with interment in Historyland Memorial Park, Pastor Ralph Dixon officiating.
