Charline Louise Stults Knoll, formerly of Richmond, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, in Bonita Springs, Florida. Mrs. Knoll was born in Randolph County on August 3, 1923, the daughter of Roger W. Stults and Ruby E. Harper Stults. She graduated from Fountain City High School and attended Indiana Business College and Purdue University. Mrs. Knoll was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and was active in educational, civic, and philanthropic activities. Her professional career began in Richmond. She was later associated with Wometco Enterprises and Burger King Corporation Headquarters in Miami, Florida. For the latter company, she was responsible for all nation-wide payroll administration. She was also employed for a period of time by a Bahamian Islands development consortium. Thereafter, her independent endeavor included ownership of the oldest catering company in the state of Florida; catering for the "First Lady of the United States", White House Staff, Vice Presidents, Senators, Congressmen, Foreign Heads of State, prominent politicians, motion picture and television personalities, and many leaders of the financial and business world. She was recognized as "official caterer" for the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, and Florida International University. After selling her catering business and semi-retirement, she continued her professional career as Controller and Chief Financial Officer for America's oldest ophthalmic equipment manufacturing company. At the time of her death, Mrs. Knoll had retired with her husband of 66 years to Bonita Springs, Florida. She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Knoll, formerly of Whitewater, Indiana, and three children, Darline L. Knoll-Nystrom, Robert W. Knoll, and Bradley G. Knoll, all residing in Florida. Mrs. Knoll is also survived by a sister, Miriam E. Butler of Richmond. Other survivors include eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Knoll was preceded in death by two brothers, Max E. and Darryl W. Stults.
