James Daniel Brown son of Jeremial Daniel Brown and Mary Ann (Flautt) married Savilla Mary Buhrman, 20 May 1849 at Foxville, Frederick County, MD - at the home of the bride. She was the daughter of Daniel Buhrman and Mary (Lantz).

They had the following children:
(1.) Melvin Augustus Brown b. 24 March 1850 in Euclid, Washington County, MD., and died at Des Moines, Iowa. where he was involved in a killing, his father disowned him, and he went in disgrace to Poke County, Iowa.
(2.) George Dyson Brown b. 23 March 1852-d. 12 September 1934, removed to Tacoma WA.
(3.) Cornelius Asbury Brown b. 23 March 1854-d. 10 February 1901 married (first) Hester A. Himes after her death married Ida E. Pryor.
(4.) David Keller Brown b. 28 April 1856-d. 22January 1938 married Nancy Jane Cooly, removed to IA., where he operated a bee and dairy Farm.
(5.) Lewis Clark Brown. 14 August 1858, removed to Forest Park, Chicago Ill., where he conducted a large piano, organ, and musical instrument Store, later removed to Ohio.
(6.) Daniel McCelvey Brown b. 5 August 1860-d. 1928 married Ellen Beery, removed to Iowa.
(7.) Mary Emma Buhrman Brown ("Molly") b. 5 August 1862 married L. Charles Kroh and removed to Yankton County, S.D.
(8.) Charles Elmer Brown b. 19 June 1864-d. 14 November 1924 married Nora Howard and removed to Whiteside County, IL.
(9.) Martha Jane Ellen Brown b. 3 January 1866-d. 28 August 1942 married 30 April 1885 her cousin James Daniel Brown, son of William F. Brown.
(10.) Fannie May Brown b.7 November 1869, Euclid, Washington County, MD. d. 10 August 1947 married 30 May 1874, at Foxville, Frederick County MD., Morehead Alexander Wolf. She was raised by paternal grandmother and was self-educated schoolteacher at Euclid. She assisted in the conduct of her father's business and served as postmaster at Euclid. Fannie May Brown married 30 May 1894, Morland Alexander Wolfe.
