Mrs. May was born April 24, 1897 in Pilot Rock, Oregon, to Artemus and Martha Palmer Warner. She attended schools there.
She married James T. May on April 6, 1913 in Pilot Rock. The couple lived in Umatilla County most of their married life. They moved to Athena in 1964.
Mrs. May worked at area packing houses in Milton-Freewater. She and her husband owned a curio shop in the old Greyhound Bus Depot in Pendleton. Her husband died this year in July.
Mrs. May is survived by three sons, James May of Clackamas, Oregon, George May and William May, both of Pendleton; daughters, Verna McLean and Janice Handley, both of Weston, and LaVelle Lubbes of Milton-Freewater; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild. A son, Robert May, died in 1942.
