Pitts in Maryland 19 Feb 1803. The couple migrated into Dekalb County, TN about 1805. For the last 22 years of his life William was unable to walk due to rheumatism. He pastored until unable to pastor a church and then became the church clerk for as long as he lived. He died from bronchitis. "Few men, if any, stood higher in his day as a man and as a preacher."
