"Daniel Goddard, one of the oldest citizens of Worcester, died at his residence on High street at one o'clock yesterday morning, in the eighty-ninth year of his age.
He came to Worcester from Shrewsbury in 1817, and for 40 years, was engaged in the jewelry business.
He was married in 1819 and celebrated his sixty-fourth marriage anniversary a few weeks ago.
He was taken with a chill Wednesday, and since then has failed rapidly. He leaves a wife who is confinded to her bed by illness."
