Marian E. Meyers, 83, of rural Bellefonte, passed away at home, May 21, 2013, peacefully into the Lords arms surrounded by her family at her side. Born on Sept. 16, 1929, in Kane, a daughter of the late William and Laura (Grifford) Aikey. On April 12, 1948, she married Robert McC. Meyers in Curtin. He preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2003. She was employed at Sherri Cup Factory, Inc., of New Britain, Conn. for 15 years, but was always and foremost a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker to her family. She is survived by three daughters, Connie Witherite (Reuben), of Pleasant Gap, Susan Dufour (Roger), of Terryville, Conn., Laura Dufour (Melvin), of Bellefonte; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; along with a brother, Clifford Aikey, of Bellefonte; and a sister, Lois Fisher, of Milesburg, In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert J. Myers; and two grandchildren, Lisa Kay Witherite and Johnathan Cox; and brothers, Ronald Aikey and Earl Aikey. A public visitation will be held on May 24, 2013, from 10 a.m. till Noon, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte PA. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 12 p.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Steven Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Meyer Cemetery, Benner Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eagle Heights Bible Church, Rte. 150, Milesburg, PA 16853 or Centre Crossings Hospice, 2437 Commercial Blvd., State College, PA 16801.
