Life came to a close on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital for Jennie Jane Brooks Barnes.
Jennie Jane Brooks Barnes was born May 27, 1917 to the late Rainey Brooks and Fannie Ann Nash. She was educated in the public school. At an early age she united with Reed Chapel Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her death.
On December 24, 1937 Jennie Jane Brooks was united in holy matrimony to Jams Barnes, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Exie Mae Barnes.
She leaves to cherish her memory; seven (7) sons, Jesse James Barnes of San Augustine Texas, Joe Edwards Barnes (Velma Jewel) of Houston Texas, Albert Earl Barnes (Martha Ann) of San Augustine Texas, Johnny Earl Barnes of San Augustine Texas, Frank James Barnes of San Augustine, Texas, J. C. Barnes Jr. of San Augustine, Texas, and Charles Ray Roberts (Ida Mae) of Nacogdoches, Texas; three (3) daughters, Lessie Mae Barnes of San Augustine, Texas, Eleanor Ruth Perry of Houston, Texas, and Jennie Ruth Garrett (Jessie Calvin) of Humble, Texas; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; four (4) sisters, Girtie Lee Green, of Lamarque, Texas, Ella Mae Turner of Hobbs, New Mexico, Anna B. Moore (Robert) of Center, Texas and Eliza Jane Cartwright of Shreveport, Louisiana; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
