Abraham married Eliza Huehengard on May 15, 1888. The couple had two children:
- Catharina, born on August 10, 1890, lived for four hours.
- Martha, born on July 27, 1891, lived for seven hours.
Eliza died on August 9, 1991, thirteen days after giving birth to Martha.
Abraham's second wife was Emilia Catharina Stein (b. ~1869), a daughter of Adam Stein and Elizabeth Rothaermel. They were married on February 21, 1893, in Erbsville, Ontario. The children from Abraham's marriage with Emilia were:
- Herman Edgar Lorne "Lorne" (1894-1979)
- Hilda Ludella (1899-1980)
Abraham and Emilia lived in Berlin (now Kitchener). Here, Abraham worked as a carpenter, and later, as an insurance agent.
Abraham died on October 12, 1933, in Birmingham, Michigan, where his daughter resided.
