Gloria was born in Brooklyn, NY to Robert and Philippina Dietzel on July 29, 1934. She went to high school at Franklin K. Lane and graduated in 1951. For 18 years Gloria and Jim raised their family on Long Island, NY. In 1978 the family moved to Brevard County FL. Gloria was Vice President of Jim Morris & Sons Inc., a local contracting company. Over the years she also held positions at Price Waterhouse, Regency Communications, All Island Delivery Service and United Rent All, a business started with her husband Jim. At the age of 50, Gloria received her AA degree from Brevard Community College, an accomplishment she was deservedly very proud of. The job dearest to Gloria's heart was that of wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Throughout her life Gloria was involved in many organizations. She founded the school music program at SS. Cyril & Methodius where she was also a religious education teacher. Gloria and Jim were CYO directors at SSC&M. She worked with the cheerleading, track, basketball and soccer programs. Gloria was a member of the Womens Guild at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Gloria loved reading and traveling.
Gloria is preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis and her daughter, Mary Ann. Gloria is survived by Jim, her loving husband of 60 years. She is also survived by her sons, James (Linda), John (Eve), Joseph (Noreen), Thomas (Deborah) and daughters, Kathryn (Wayne Tyson), Gloria (William Braswell), Patricia Lopez (Todd Sheffer). Gloria is also survived by 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St Joseph Catholic Church, 5310 Babcock St, NE, Palm Bay tomorrow, May 24, 2013 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Fountainhead Memorial Park, 7303 Babcock Street SE, Palm Bay.
