Nine days before Emily Pauline "Tekahionwake" died she signed the final version of her last will and testament - In it she described quite clearly and unambiguously her wishes in the matter of her burial - "I hereby direct my trustee and request them and the officers of the Pauline Johnson Trust Fund to see that my body is not taken east after my death, but that the same is cremated either in the City of Vancouver or in the City of Seattle or the nearest possible point, and my ashes disposed of as near to the Pacific Ocean as possible. I desire no tombstone or monument be raised in my memory, as I prefer to be remembered in the hearts of my people and my public." Her ashes were scattered near "Siwash Rock."
On the opposite side of stone for Emily is Royaner Teyonhehkwen "Double Life" Johnson
