"TANGIER — Dennis Ray “Denny” Patton, 53, of Tangier died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis. He was the owner of Denny’s Tire of Kingman.

He was born March 3, 1960, at home in Bloomingdale, to Paul E. Patton Sr. and Mary L. Beeson Patton. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Linda Banta Patton whom he married Dec. 30, 1979, in Byron; also surviving, his mother of Tangier; two sons, Bruce (Amanda) Patton of Marshall and Ryan (Lilly) Patton of Waynetown; two daughters, Sarah Patton of Tangier and Amanda (Morris) Brown of Bloomingdale; five brothers, Richard Patton of Tangier, Paul “Sam” Patton of Kingman, Jerry “Pud” Patton of Tangier, John Patton of Kingman and James Patton of Covington; two sisters, Linda Branch of Bloomingdale and Jean Akers of Rockville; six grandchildren, Alexandra, Damon and Rose Patton, Keyera, Lilah and Morrissa Brown; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father June 25, 2001, and a grandson, William Edward Brown on Jan. 7, 2007.

He was a 1978 graduate of Turkey Run High School in Marshall. He was a member of the Kingman Lions Club and the Covered Bridge Antique Power Association where he served as president and treasurer. He was a collector of many items including antique farm tractors.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, in Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard St., Rockville, with Steve and Becky Crum and Gary Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Rush Creek Cemetery at Tangier. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday in Gooch Funeral Home. Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to the March of Dimes-Indiana Chapter, 136 E. Market St., Indianapolis, IN 46204 in his memory.
