Funeral service for the Rev. Cecil Seals Davis Sr., 76, of San Augustine was held August 25 at the Rosevine Pentecostal Church in San Augustine. Burial was in the Davis Cemetery here under the direction of Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.
He died Thursday, September 22, 1985 at Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin after an illness.
A native of Bleakwood, he lived in San Augustine for several years and was a retired minister.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Davis of San Augustine; a daughter, Helen Ritter of San Augustine; seven sons, Rev. Cecil S. Davis Jr. of Beaumont, Rev. D Douglas Davis of Levittown, N.Y., Ivy Eugene Davis of Burleson, Rev. Jim V. Davis of Oceanside, California, Jonathan Davis of Crowley, Rev. Ronald D. Davis of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Wayne Taylor of New Waverly; a sister, Thelma Holley of Kirbyville; a brother, Melvin Davis of Fort Worth;; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
