James Mefford

Services for James Bradley Mefford 84, of 271 Bates Road will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Roger's Funeral Home. He died Friday following a long illness.

A native of Peaks Mill, he was a lifelong farmer. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was a member of Capital City Christian Church. He is survived by a daughter, Connie (Bruce) Bowman of Cookeville, TN; two sons, Herb (Lori) Mefford and Allen Mefford of Frankfort; a brother, Billy (Dorothy) Mefford; a sister, Joanne Schrader both of Frankfort; five grandchildren, Landon and Ben Mefford, Sydney Mefford, Eric and Elliott Bowman and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Schrader Mefford; his parents, Mamie and Elias Mefford and one brother, Owen Mefford.

The family would like to express special thanks to his caregiver Linda Tincher.

Bearers will be Landon Mefford, Ben Mefford, Steve Schrader, Todd Schrader, Joel Schrader, Joe Mefford and Donald Mefford.
Honorary bearers will be Wilbert Perkins, Eddie Thompson, Frank Haynes and the Shepherd's Class of Capital City Christian Church.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Roger's Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Peaks Mill Cemetery.

The family requests donations be sent to Hospice of the Bluegrass, Peaks Mill Cemetery fund or Capital City Christian Church.
