He moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, from Parsons, Tennessee after serving his country in the U.S. Army, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for Valor.
There he met Margaret G. Anderson and they were married October 5th, 1952. Wilburn and his wife, Margaret, lived all of their married life, among family and friends, on the west side of Colorado Springs.
He was a member of the Local 58 Plumbing and Pipefitting union. During the last five years he had resided at The Village at Skyline Nursing Facility.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret and six brothers and sisters. He has left as his legacy, four children and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Matyleen Cooper of Colorado Springs and a brother Max Graves of Grand Coulee, Washington.
He will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew him. Many thanks to the nurses and staff at Village at Skyline for their dedicated care to our Dad. His Memorial Service will be held at Memorial Gardens; on Monday, December 13, 2010, at 10:00 am.
