He was born in Ft. Payne, Alabama and was the son of the late Christopher C. and Eula Ophelia White Foster. Henry was a US Army Air Corps veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of the ODD Fellows and was a lifelong resident of the area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Foster; three grandchildren, Shelia Lynn Foster, Ben Foster, Preston Price; two great grandchildren, Ethan Byrd and Travis Foster; three sisters, Imo Jean Foster, Merle Foster and Velma Culp; and four brothers, F.C. Foster, Dustin Foster, Troy Foster, and Cloyd Foster.

Funeral services for Henry Arnard Foster, Sr. will be conducted Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. J. C. Johnson officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Claypool Hill, Virginia. Members of the VFW Post 9640 will conduct military graveside rites.
