Henry Arnard Foster, Sr., age 97, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia.

He was born in Ft. Payne, Alabama and was the son of the late Christopher C. and Eula Ophelia White Foster. Henry was a US Army Air Corps veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of the ODD Fellows and was a lifelong resident of the area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Foster; three grandchildren, Shelia Lynn Foster, Ben Foster, Preston Price; two great grandchildren, Ethan Byrd and Travis Foster; three sisters, Imo Jean Foster, Merle Foster and Velma Culp; and four brothers, F.C. Foster, Dustin Foster, Troy Foster, and Cloyd Foster.

Survivors are:

Three Daughters:
Ann Tester of Bristol, Tennessee
Janice Reid of Baptist Valley, Virginia
Nancy Robinson and husband, Steve of Kennewick, Washington

Three Sons:
Henry A. Foster, Jr. of Baptist Valley, Virginia
James B. Foster and wife, Brenda of Yulee, Florida
Don Foster and wife, Glenna of Rogersville, Tennessee

Two Sisters:
Melba Nuzum of Leesburg, Florida
Faye King of Eustis, Florida

Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and seventeen great great-grandchildren

Funeral services for Henry Arnard Foster, Sr. will be conducted Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. J. C. Johnson officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Claypool Hill, Virginia. Members of the VFW Post 9640 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call from 6:00 – 9:00 pm Friday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
