Gertrude Ferguson

BEL AIR, Md. - Gertrude Ferguson, 78, of Bel Air, formerly of Port Allegany, Pa., passed away Saturday (May 5, 2012) at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air.

She was the daughter of Louise Hurff Repple and Lyle C. Repple. On April 27, 1957, she married Roy Ferguson, who passed away Nov. 3, 2000.

Surviving are one son, William L. (Lyn) Ferguson of Hinsdale, N.Y.; one daughter, Deborah L. (Dean) Snyder of Bel Air; five grandchildren, Brandy (Matt) Smith of Williamsport, Pa., Tyler (Shelly) Ferguson of Manchester, N.H., Kacy Ferguson of Hinsdale and Kristi and Ashley Snyder, both of Bel Air; and four great- grandchildren, Kayden and Kameron Smith of Williamsport and McKenzie and Grace Dombeck of Manchester. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Krash.

A graduate of Hornell High School and Russell Sage College in New York, she had a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education, which she taught at several schools. She also worked at Ethan Allen for 11 years.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and loved gardening, yard work and traveling. She was active with her grandchildren and dedicated to her family.

Mrs. Ferguson will be buried in Fairview Cemetery in Port Allegany, Pa.
