A.W. (Wandell), passed away January 21st, 1996, in his home, after an extended illness. He was born June 15th, 1920 in Maud, Ok. to C.L. and Pearl Billingsley, who preceded him in death.

His service in the Armed Forces included Capt. in the Air Corps during WWII, and a Major in the 45th Division of the Okla. National Guard during the Korean War.

Wandell married Mary L. Dancey May 31st, 1943 in Wewoka, Ok. He was an active member of the Church of Christ and served as an Elder in the Jenks congregation. He served as Asst. General Mgr. of the Grand River Dam Authority during the 1970s. Since that time, Wandell had been self-employed and retired. He was a Boy Scout leader in the Wewoka Last Frontier Council. He loved children and was beloved by everyone. As one friend put it, "He was the best toy a swimming pool ever had."

Wandell is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary; a daughter, Judy Norvell of OKC; a son, Mike Billingsley of OKC; 5 grandchildren, Robert and wife Tammy Norvell of Berryville, Ar., Ginger and husband Don Posey of Marlow, Ok., Kerri Billingsley of OKC, Ryan Billingsley of OKC, and Sandra Norvell, who preceded him in death; 4 great grandchildren, Robert and Whitney Norvell of Berryville and Claire and Baby Posey of Marlo w; 2 brothers, Weldon Billingsley of Wewoka, Walter Billingsley of Tulsa; 2 brothers-in-law, Lloyd and Floyd Dancey; 4 sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 27th, 1:00 p. m., at the Mayfair Church of Christ, 2340 N.W. 50th, OKC.
