WATERBURY — Mr. David A. Dodge, age 70, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the West Haven Veterans Hospital.
Mr. Dodge was born on Feb. 14, 1943 in Waterbury, son of the late Albion C. and Josephine M. (Egan) Dodge. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and was a proud Army veteran.
David worked in car sales for more than 40 years and was a member of PROFNET of Waterbury Inc. and also a friend of Bill W. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a dog lover.
David is survived by his daughter Melissa Kelley, her husband Kevin and his grandsons, Collin and Patrick Kelley, all of Ohio; his brother Richard Dodge and his wife Kathy, of Waterbury; his sister Anne "Nancy" Drost and her husband Donald, of Cheshire; his two aunts Margaret Naughton and Elizabeth Knightly, both of Waterbury.
He also leaves his longtime companion of more than 10 years, Nancy Dodge, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 9 a.m. from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury with a service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
