Catherine Jock Merritt, age 80 of Iakhihsohtha Nursing Home, Snye, Quebec formerly of Syracuse, NY died Mar 6, 1999 at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Cornwall, Ont. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Maria) Pasho of Camillus, NY, five grandchildren; John Clark of Hogansburg, NY, Dawn Clark of
Ohio, Todd Clark of Hastings, NY, Lance Clark of Virginia Beach, VA and Richard Piper of Syracuse, N.Y. She has 7 great grandchildren and also survived by one brother, Jake "Red" Jock of St.Regis, Quebec. Also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister Nancy in the 1950's. She was born on August 24, 1918 and was the daughter of Joseph Jock and Georgiana Gareau. She attended schools on the St. Regis Reservation. She married William R. Bero who died on May 2, 1994 and Edward Merritt on June 27, 1957 in Syracuse, NY. He passed away in 1994. She was a home maker living in Syracuse since the 1940's returning to the St. Regis Reservation last August 1998. She was a member of the Kateri Circle at St. Lucy's Catholic Church, Syracuse, NY and a member of the Native American Senior Program in Syracuse. Quebec. Calling hours at the home of Nancy and Bunny Arquette, Hogansburg until the time of the funeral on Wednesday, at St. Regis Catholic Church. Clergy officiating was Rev.
