Anna Mae Lynn, age 95, a lifetime resident of Huntington, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Monday (May 20, 2013) at The Tipton House in Huntington, Indiana.

Anna Mae was born June 30, 1917, in Huntington, Indiana, to Arthur and Clara (McNally) Elsasser. She graduated in 1935 and later married Charles E. Lynn on September 2, 1939 in Huntington. They had one child together whom they also named Charles. They shared 62 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 18, 2002.

Anna Mae worked at Schachts Rubber Company prior to being a Secretary at St. Peter's First Community Church as well as being the Choir Director of the church. Anna Mae also led the Junior Choir at The Congregational Church of Huntington.

Anna Mae had many interests. She loved to sing, play the piano, read, sew, work with ceramics, play bingo, and cards; her favorite card game was pinochle. Her favorite song to sing was Amazing Grace and she was a self-taught piano player who had a passion to play. Her favorite song to play was Moon Glow on the piano. She was a dedicated Cubs fan. She was a member Women's Club and the Delta Theta Tau Sorority for 66 years and also recognized for her nearly 60 years of service and dedication with the March of Dimes Foundation as well her 50 years of service with the Democratic Party for Huntington and the State of Indiana. It was because Anna Mae had such great connections with her friends, who surrounded her with love, that she was named April's Resident of the Month at The Tipton House.

One of her son's, fondest memories of her, was nearly 55 years ago when she was attending choir school in North Webster, Indiana, and at the same time the Purdue Varsity Glee Club directed by Dr. Stewart was performing at the same location. While mom was attending the Glee Club Concert she was randomly selected to come on stage and sing with the glee club and she also sang a solo. Mom was quite a spark Plug and she really got the crowd wound up to the point that many people thought that she was a plant, "No Plant, Just MOM!"

Anna Mae is survived by her son - Charles E. (Norma) Lynn, II of Cape Coral, Florida; four sisters - Kathryn "Kay" Delauter of Huntington, Maxine Ungerer of Twinsburg, Ohio, Betty Baumgardner of North Manchester and Mildred Binder of Huntington; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, eight great great-grandchildren and a niece - Cindy Homier of Huntington. Her parents, husband, a brother - Arthur Roy Elsasser, Jr., preceded her in death.

Family will receive friends 3-7 p.m. Friday (May 24, 2013) at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (May 25, 2013) with a one-hour visitation prior to service at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Rev. Raymond Scribner will be officiating. Entombment will be held in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, Indiana.
