Marilyn J. Young, 80, of 1142 E. CR 16, Tiffin, died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at home.
She was born July 25, 1932, in Crawford County, to Walter F. and Waunita (Smalley) Chandler. She married Charles A. Young Nov. 8, 1952, and he died May 20, 2010.
Surviving are the following children: Joyce (Paul) Weaver of rural Tiffin and Joann (Steve) Riedlinger of rural Sycamore. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Rebel (Jason) Marsh, Ryan L. Weaver, Samantha and Creston Riedlinger. There also are two great-grandchildren, Kaiden C. and Grayson Marsh. She also is survived by a brother, Jack (Sharon) Chandler of Bucyrus, and a special friend and caregiver, Kelly Fitzpatrick.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Lynn and Craig Young, and one brother, in addition to her husband and parents.
Marilyn was a homemaker, a graduate of Bucyrus High School and attended Sycamore United Methodist Church. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also loved her cats and dogs.
Funeral services for Marilyn will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home in Sycamore, with the Rev. Paul Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 prior to the funeral service.
