Edward was born in Bay City Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas and started his career with Brazos Oil and Gas Company. He moved his family to California in the 50's to continue his career. He passed the exams and was a California certified petroleum engineer. He was very active in the oil and gas production in California, and was highly respected in his field. He went to work for Capitol Oil in the later years and was a consulting engineer until his retirement. Edward (Ed) had six children, Antoinette, Andrew,Philip,Edward jr.,Deborah and David Gaudet. Ed was a gentleman farmer in his spare time, and he loved his cherry orchard, especially the cherry blossoms in spring. He was a good man, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. He was very skilled with his hands and could fix just about any engine he ever came across.
