WINTER, Janice M., 61; OLD TOWN - Janice M. Winter, 61, died peacefully after a long illness, Feb. 24, 2001, at her residence surrounded by family. She was born Dec. 29, 1939, in Passadumkeag, the daughter of Leo and Evelyn (Sanborn) Tinkham. Janice was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker. She had an independent spirit and love for life. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, the outdoors, and was known for her excellent cooking. She is survived by her husband, William C. Winter of Old Town; a daughter, Christine W. Comeau and her husband, Alan of Old Town; a son, Erik C. Winter and his finance, Lisa Trainor of Portland; two sisters, Imogene Mae Wallace and her husband, Ronald of Passadumkeag, Patricia A. Guay and her husband, Paul of Bradley; two grandchildren, Austin W. Comeau and Haley B. Comeau of Old Town; several other family members. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Stillwater Federated Church with the Rev. Ron Chaffee officiating.
