Anderson Herald, Tuesday, January 13, 1981, p.5 WABASH - Virgil William McCord, 68 Rt 1, died early Monday at Wabash County Hospital after an illness of six weeks. Born in Perkinsville, he had resided in Wabash County the past 12 years and was retired from the U.F. Gypsum Co. He is survived by his wife, Mary; seven sons; Fred McCord of Martinsville, Virgil R and Leslie (Peggy) McCord, both of Anderson; Frank McCord, Danny (Brenda) McCord of Peru, Jerry McCord and Ernie McCord of Wabash; four daughters; Anna Lycan, Sue Hall, Hazel McCord, and Peggy Learned of Wabash; a step-son: Howard Wagner Jr of Peru; a half brother; two half sisters, Mrs Everett Cassell of Anderson and Myrtle Reger of Pendleton; 46 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased in death by a daughter Marilyn McCord. Services will be conducted at 10:30 am Wednesday at the Eddingfield Mortuary here. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at Sunset Cemetery in Elwood.
