A beloved wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 63 years, Kell Livingston. Her daughter is Linda Shumilas, wife of Robert Shumilas, of Florence; and her son is Lt. Col. Robert K. Livingston, USAF Ret., husband of Sherri Livingston, of Pittsburgh, Pa. She also is survived by her sister-in-law, Lois Harper, Jackson, Miss.; brother-in-law, Barton Jones, Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Livingston was preceded in death by her parents, Carl L. Hoebner and Thelma Long Hoebner, and her sister, Patricia Jones, all of Cincinnati.
She was born in Dayton, Ohio. During World War II, she was trained as a nurse in the Cadet Nurse Corps. A talented athlete, artist and gardener, she most enjoyed her role as a homemaker. She was a resident of the Shoals for more than 40 years, most recently living in Florence, where she created a beautiful garden and enjoyed the lovely town. For 25 years, she lived on Lake Wilson, which was one of the happiest times in her life. She could swim across the lake, water-skied until late in life and enjoyed sailing solo in her little boat. She and her dog, Reggie, fishedtogether often.
In keeping with her wishes, her funeral will be private on Saturday, March 13, with the Rev. Douglas Pate, chaplain, American Legion Florence-Lauderdale Post 11, officiating, and interment at Greenview Memorial Park.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to all of her caregivers at the Hospice of Tennessee Valley, especially Cindy Prestage.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or the Girl Scouts of America.
Arrangements by Greenview Funeral Home.
