Pitney McGhee, age 100 of Caryville, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the Cumberland Village Care and Rehab Center in Lafollette. He was born on November 21, 1912 in Campbell County, Tennessee to the late Shird and Melissa Lowe McGhee. Pitney was a United States Army veteran having served in World War II. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Pitney is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Edington McGhee, brother, Thomas McGhee and sisters, Ollie Griffith, Marsha Phillips, Dessie Smith and Roxie Sexton.

Pitney is survived by:
Special Niece.................Ella Tackett of Caryville
Several Nieces and Nephews and many friends.

The family will receive friends at the Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 5-7PM with the funeral service to follow at 7:00PM with the Rev. Johnny Rains officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 2:15PM and go in funeral procession to the Marlow Cemetery in Caryville for a 3:00PM interment with full military honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
