BLANTON, Ewing Thomas - Services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday in the Peters Funeral Chapel, Shafter, for Ewing Thomas Blanton, 84, who passed away June 9, in Shafter. Interment will follow in Shafter Memorial Park.
Mr. Blanton was born Oct. 5, 1905 in Whitewright, Texas. He married Reva Lee Hopper Oct 6, 1928, and moved his family to Kern County in 1948. Mr. Blanton spent his life farming and retired in 1972. He was an active member of the Shafter First Church of the Nazarene and found much satisfaction in maintaining the grounds as long as he was able.
Survivors include his dearly loved wife of 61 years, Reva Lee Blanton; daughter, Louise of Shafter; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Linda of Anaheim; three grandchildren, Deanna, Jeff and Jayme; twin brother, Irving of Texas; brother, Clarence of Kansas; sisters, Orpha Walt and Bertha Ward, both of Texas.
He lived a life of quietly shared love and left a long legacy of compassion and caring learned at Jesus's feet. Peters Funeral Home, Shafter
