Glenn E. Jenkins

Glenn E. Jenkins, 76, of Etowah, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Etowah, he was retired from Western Electric. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and National Guard. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.

A son of the late Wesley and Myrtle Jenkins, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Jenkins.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Judy Jenkins of Etowah; two daughters, Kim Sims of Maryville, and Tammy Swilley of Riceville; two sons, Marty Jenkins and Shane Jenkins, both of Etowah; seven grandchildren, Ashley Adams, Kari Sims, Dylan Swilley, Abby Swilley and Michala, Devin and Lauren Jenkins; one great-grandchild, Kyler Grace Adams; four brothers, Albert Jenkins, Larry Jenkins, Robert Jenkins and Danny Jenkins; three sisters, Joyce Lanning, Dianne Lanning and Kathy Mincey.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Monday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Vest officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday and will proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the 11 a.m. burial with military honors.

Family will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
