Kenneth Eugene Beavers, age 54, of Robbinsville, NC passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 at his residence. Born July 29, 1958, Kenneth was a native of Cherokee County, NC, and the son of the late David Eugene and Palice Passmore Beavers. He was employed by Coats American until it closed in 2008 and began working for Stanley Furniture until 2012, when he was diagnosed with cancer. Kenneth was saved as a young man in his early twenties. He was a loving husband and best friend to his wife of 25 years, Nadine Williams Beavers, and a friend to everyone he met. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Tempe Walters Williams, who loved him deeply. He is survived by his wife Nadine Williams Beavers, one daughter, Amanda Beavers, three grandchildren, Kristen Elkins, Chandler Smith, and Kandra Smith. Two sisters, Pansy Phillips of Andrews, NC and Nancy Rathbone and husband Jay of Marble NC; one brother, Reverend Jerry Beavers and wife Elizabeth of Marble, NC; four brother-in-laws, Ricky Williams and wife Louise of Hixson TN, Larry Williams, Dubby Williams, and Dennis Williams and wife Amanda, all of Robbinsville, NC; a special niece and nephew, Jessica Foster and Stephen Williams who helped care for him. He is also survived by several more nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the Townson-Smith Funeral Home in Robbinsville. The Reverends Jerry Beavers and Bo Phillips will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm prior to the service. Committal services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Old Mother Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Beavers, Tony Rathbone, Kyle Williams, Stevens Williams, Darrell Watkins, and Bob Watkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Williams, Dennis Williams, and Bobby Foster. Townson-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
