Son of Joseph & Margaret Veith Faris, husband of Mary Elizabeth Steinbicker, married October 4, 1947 Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia

Biographical:
He was educated in the public schools of Wheeling (W. Va.) and graduated from Wheeling High School in 1919. Faris was a graduate of Cornell University at Ithaca, NY. He alao received a master's degree from Cornell.
He was an American Institute of Architects architect and a member of the West Virginia Board of Examiners of Architects.
Buildings designed by Faris include: City-County Building, Ohio Valley General Hospital, Ohio Valley General Hospital Nursing Home, many of the buildings at West Liberty State College, the Ohio County Airport Administration Building, the Pine Room and swimming pool at Oglebay Park, and the Vineyard Hill and Hil-Dar federal housing developments.
He belonged to the Wheeling-Cornell Alumni Club, was a member of the West Virginia Historical Society Board of Directors, and a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Wheeling.
Faris died unexpectedly at his home in Wheeling.
